Data Quality Policy
When we register a domain name on your behalf we are required to provide accurate information to the relevant Domain Registry. To this end:
- If you are registering on behalf of a company or charity, we will contact Companies House or the Charity Commission as appropriate
- If we cannot verify your address we will ask for a copy of a utility bill or bank statement or driving licence
- You must provide an active email address that you monitor regularly and we will test this
If our checks fail, we will endeavour to contact you by email, telephone or letter to give you the opportunity to supply verifiable information.
If we cannot verify your identity or the identity of your organisation within 30 days we will have no alternative but to suspend your domain without refund.
Notes
If registering a club, please use .org.uk or .org (at extra cost).
If you already have a UK domain name you may either ask your registration agent to change the Name Servers to ns2.sheenrose.co.uk and ns3.sheenrose.co.uk or preferably ask your registration agent to change the TAG Name to SQUAREZONE. In this way, we will pay for domain name renewals. The same applies to non UK domain names, but you need to ask your registration agent to ensure that the admin address is your email address and to unlock the domain name.
If registering a company or charity and you do not have the Company Number or Charity Trust Number handy, you may be able to find them at Companies House or The Charity Commission.
If we are to register a UK domain name for you, please ensure that you select the correct type of organisation.
If you have registered your domain name and wish to keep your existing registration agent, you will be responsible for domain renewal.
If your chosen domain name is lengthy, you may wish to consider registering a shortened form. It helps when you have to give email or website addresses over the telephone. An example:SpeedEweb.co.uk and spdw.co.uk.
Consider registering a .com version of a .uk name at this time because it may not be available in future.
See Pricing for details of the top level domain names we register.
